Michigan rivers are recieveing good numbers of steelhead. Most Southern rivers have good numbers. Betsie River is alittle slow but catchable numbers mostly below the dam and US31. Good thaw coming should bring the rivers right. Oregon cheese eggs and black stones working well.

Arkansas's White River fishing good due to dam generation. Fish taken over twenty inches took large articulated olive streamers. One of the fish looks like it ate a small duck or rodent. Flows looking excellent for 3/30. Best flows from 10-2 o'clock then dropping towards dark.

Manistee River fly water running clear but on the rise. Should be very good the next several days with rain and melting snow. Streamer bite today was fantastic with several in the mid teens and two lost in the low twenties. Olive jesus and black krakens were the ticket. Water temps low forties. Small black stones popping everywhere few fairly good fish working but mostly smallish fish. Slow stripes were crucial. Still al ot of snow in the more remote access areas.
Au Sable River - South Branch same conditions very low water. Many stones hatching.
Betsie River very low and clear few steelhead above the dam, fair numbers below. Should pick up with the thaw. Water temp is 38 degrees. Few fish on redds. Black stones popping everywhere. Spring is in the air. |
