|
After leaving high school, Pat attended Colorado State University and studied fisheries biology under renowned professors Dr. Robert Behnki and Dr. Kurt Fausch
Pat started his professional fly fishing career as a guide for Gore Creek Fly Fisherman in Vail, Colorado in 1989. After a few years of learning the ropes, he took the leap to fly shop ownership with an Orvis dealership in Avon, Colorado. After deciding that he preferred the water to running a shop, Pat went back to guiding for Roy Palm at the Fryingpan Anglers in Basalt, CO. While guiding in Colorado, Pat received a call from friend Kelly Galloup who wanted to have him come and apply his experience in Northern Michigan. Pat had always wanted to get back closer to home and the large trout and salmon that live in the surrounding Northern Michigan rivers. Pat served as the head guide for Kelly Galloup at the Troutsman in Traverse City, Michigan for six years. At present, Pat runs Moore Outfitters plying the local rivers from spring to fall and taking clients to exotic locations during the winter as well…places like New Zealand and Honduras and Northern Quebec where angling opportunities are as large as the waters surrounding these beautiful locales. |
